Launching Arts University Bournemouth
A comprehensive website redesign for a creative institution with over 140 years of history, becoming one of the UK's most accessible university sites.
We've launched a new platform for Arts University Bournemouth, a creative institution with over 140 years of history teaching artists, designers, and creative practitioners.
The project was a collaboration with Bond + Coyne, university staff, students, and internal marketing teams. Building a site for a creative institution means working with people who have strong opinions about design and high standards for execution.
We built the site on Craft CMS and React, with accessibility as a core requirement rather than a finishing pass. AUB came out as one of the most accessible university sites in the UK — prospective students, current students, staff, and visitors can all use it effectively.
When the pandemic hit in 2020, we adapted the system to host the university's end-of-year exhibitions online for the first time, so graduating students could still show their work with the campus closed.
Since launch we've extended the platform with tools for schools administration and internal reporting dashboards as the university's needs have grown.
