This is a significant hire for us. As the agency has grown, the scope and ambition of the projects has too, and having someone dedicated to creative direction across the work marks a real step up.
Max brings over a decade leading creative teams for clients ranging from cultural institutions to tech startups. What impressed us in the hiring process was the clarity of thinking behind his portfolio — he articulates why particular creative decisions matter and how they serve the business objective, not just the aesthetic.
His role covers both hands-on creative direction and strategic oversight. He'll work directly with clients to translate business goals into creative strategy, and with the team to keep the quality of design work high across the board. He's comfortable challenging assumptions — his own included — and values collaboration over hierarchy, which fits how we work.
For clients, Max's arrival means more strategic creative thinking from the start of projects. For the team, it means having someone dedicated to developing everyone's skills and maintaining the quality of the work.
